New Product Development For sustainable building materials
Altera Circular Systems is focused on new product development pathways for building cleaner homes.
Use what we have. Build what we need.
What We’re Doing
Altera Circular Systems is building the early research and partnership foundation for new product development.
Our focus is on identifying what research, testing, materials science, engineering, and commercial planning are needed to develop innovative building materials from textile waste.
This includes early questions such as:
- How should fabric be processed, shredded, pulped, or prepared?
- What kind of binder could hold textile fibers together safely?
- What performance standards would a building material need to meet?
- What research partners, labs, and product-development experts are needed?
- What timeline and budget would move the concept toward a prototype?
Fiscally sponsored by Embolden WI (501(c)(3)).
Define material questions, safety concerns, testing needs, and feasibility.
We translate research into a practical roadmap: material concepts, prototype milestones, budgets, timelines, and partner needs.
The long-term focus is developing safe, durable, useful material options for sustainable homebuilding and renovation.

If this matters to you, this is the moment to step in early and help shape what this becomes.
